Five communities make up the Concord Campus, where ages range from 2 months to 12 years. The campus facilities sit on 13 acres which includes 11 acres of woodland, trails, green spaces, small animal barn and children's gardens.
All levels at the Concord Campus retain the standards set forth by the Association Montessori International
(AMI). All teachers are AMI trained in addition to their Bachelor's or Graduate degrees.
In addition to the five communities at the Concord Campus, morning care, after care,
and summer camps are also available. Refer to each program's page for detailed information.
A Unique Environment
Dr. Montessori described her earliest schools as a "Casa Dei Bambini" which is Italian for "Children's House" to distinguish them from
institutional settings. Every classroom has access to gardens, a labyrinth, 13 acres of nature trails, vegetable plots, green playing space and a small animal
barn of chickens and goats. Children can have seamless flow between indoor and outdoor prepared environments.
Hands-on work with the natural environment is uniquely and fully integrated with the Montessori materials, their creative expression and
academic abstraction. Hershey Montessori continues that legacy in its physical design, daily life and application of the Montessori method.
Consistent Quality
A continuum of quality according to international AMI standards is experienced by children from infancy through age twelve. The consistency of approach by
the Montessori faculty creates a unique learning community that supports high expectations and academic rigor grounded in developmentally appropriate activity.
Community Living
The sense of community is evident throughout the campus. Two kitchens are constantly in use by children as they prepare nutritious, fresh food in
service to each other. Older children work with younger children and develop a strong sense of responsibility and awareness of their role as models and nurturers.
